Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Trade and Integration has unveiled a draft agreement with Turkmenistan to establish trading houses in each country.
The move is aimed at strengthening economic cooperation, promoting national goods, and boosting trade based on partnership and mutual benefit, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.
Under the draft, Turkmenistan’s trading house will be set up in Almaty, while Kazakhstan’s trading house will open in Ashgabat, serving as hubs for exhibitions, marketing events, and knowledge exchange between entrepreneurs.
The agreement builds on previous treaties, including the 1993 Treaty on Friendship and Cooperation, the 2017 Treaty on Strategic Partnership, and the 2021 Joint Statement between the two presidents. Both governments will facilitate registration, allocate premises, improve logistics, and ensure smooth operations for the trading houses.
Officials say the initiative is expected to strengthen long-term ties, increase trade volumes, and create a sustainable framework for economic cooperation. The draft agreement will be open for public debate on the Open NLAs website until November 17, 2025.
The announcement follows ongoing collaboration between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, including joint efforts to combat crime and enhance regional security.
