A deadly car accident near Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan has claimed the lives of three people after a vehicle lost control and plunged into the Alamedin River.
The crash occurred near the popular Teplye Klyuchi area, not far from the capital, when the driver of a Hyundai Sonata reportedly failed to maintain control while descending through the Alamedin Gorge. The vehicle veered off the road and fell from a steep cliff estimated to be as high as a nine-story building, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
Three Killed, One Hospitalized
Emergency officials confirmed that three people died at the scene, including the driver and two young women. A fourth passenger survived the fall but sustained injuries and was urgently transported to a hospital for treatment.
Rescue teams from the Ministry of Emergency Situations responded to the scene shortly after the crash was reported, working to recover the victims and secure the accident site.
Eyewitnesses Describe Dramatic Fall
Witnesses said the vehicle lost control during the descent before plunging off the cliff and crashing into the river below. The severity of the fall left little chance of survival for those inside.
The incident has shocked local residents and highlights the dangers of mountain roads around Bishkek, especially in areas with steep terrain and sharp descents.
