CIS Deputy Secretary General Nurlan Seitimov has said that voting in Kyrgyzstan’s early parliamentary elections at the country’s embassy in Minsk took place smoothly and strictly in line with the law.
CIS observers monitored polling stations operating at Kyrgyz embassies abroad, including the one in Belarus, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
During his visit, Seitimov met with Ambassador Erbol Sultanbaev, spoke with members of the precinct election commission, and examined the automated voter identification system.
The CIS Observer Mission reported that the voting process was calm, transparent, and fully compliant with Kyrgyz electoral legislation.
Seitimov highlighted the high voter turnout at the Minsk polling station, noting strong engagement from Kyrgyz citizens living in Belarus.
“People have been coming since early morning, and some even traveled from other regions to cast their vote. The equipment is working smoothly,” he said.
Monitoring of the early elections was carried out across all regions of Kyrgyzstan, as well as at polling stations in Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Turkmenistan.
The early parliamentary elections, held on November 30, followed a majoritarian system. Voters elected 90 MPs across 30 multi-mandate constituencies, with candidates running from political parties as well as independently.
