Famous writer and humanist Chingiz Aitmatov’s vision will once again take center stage as Kyrgyzstan prepares to host the anniversary Issyk-Kul Forum, a landmark gathering dedicated to global dialogue, cultural exchange, and addressing pressing challenges of our time.
The Kyrgyz president signed an order to prepare for and host the 40th Issyk-Kul International Forum, set to take place in June 2026, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
Established in 1986 at the initiative of Aitmatov, the forum serves as an open platform for in-depth dialogue on the future of humanity, the ethics of progress, the role of culture in global politics, and the intellectual responsibility of the global community.
The anniversary gathering aims to preserve the forum’s legacy, strengthen its influence, and encourage meaningful discussions on both national and international levels in response to global challenges.
An organizing committee has been formed to develop and approve a preparation plan within three months. The Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy will oversee organizational and methodological work, with costs covered by next year’s national budget.
The committee will have the authority to engage government agencies, local authorities, independent experts, and public organizations, and to request the necessary information and materials.
