First Train Departs on China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan–Tajikistan Line

A new chapter in regional logistics has begun as joint Uzbek-Chinese company UTK International Logistics Co. Ltd dispatched the first block train from China to Tajikistan, marking a major milestone in Central Asia’s growing transport connectivity.

The train, carrying eight 40-foot containers loaded with consumer goods and construction equipment, departed from the Chinese city of Lanzhou. Traveling more than 3,500 kilometers, it passes through Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan before reaching the Dushanbe-2 railway station in Tajikistan. The journey is expected to take between 18 and 20 days, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

The route operates in pilot mode as part of trilateral agreements aimed at deepening cooperation among Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan. Tariff concessions introduced with the support of Uzbekiston Temir Yollari have helped make the corridor more competitive and attractive for cargo transit.

Founded in July 2025, UTK International Logistics was established to strengthen freight links between China and Central Asia and to consolidate shipments across the region. An assembly and consolidation center has also been launched in Lanzhou’s free economic zone, enhancing efficiency at the corridor’s starting point.

Company head Mirziyod Mirkhamidov reached agreements with Gansu International Logistics to organize transit shipments not only to Tajikistan but also onward to Turkmenistan through Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
