The Embassy of Japan in the Kyrgyz Republic will hold a grant agreement signing ceremony on October 23 under the Japanese Government’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Programme.
Attendees include Ambassador Hideki Goda, officials from the Kyrgyz Ministry of Health, and heads of the recipient medical institutions, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
In 2025, the programme will fund equipment for two medical centres: one in Ton will receive $44,400, and the General Medical Practice Center of Alay district will be equipped with $64,800 in items including an anesthesia machine, surgical lamp, and electrocoagulator.
Since its launch in Kyrgyzstan in 1996, the scheme has funded 196 projects with a total value exceeding $13 million, supporting healthcare, education, local governments and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) at the grassroots level.
