Kyrgyz Felt Makes Its Mark at International Exhibition in South Korea

A special exhibition from Kyrgyzstan, titled “The Heritage of Kyrgyz Felt”, has been recently unveiled at the Cheongju Craft Biennale in South Korea.

The opening ceremony was attended by Mirbek Mambetaliev, Minister of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy, who expressed his appreciation to the event organizers, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

He highlighted that Kyrgyz felt represents a treasured ancestral heritage, embodying the nation’s traditional lifestyle and spiritual values.

The minister also underscored the exhibition’s significance in showcasing Kyrgyzstan on the global cultural stage.

Guests were introduced to the historical and cultural importance of felt, along with traditional Kyrgyz ornaments, which reflect the country’s worldview, artistic heritage, and craftsmanship.
