Kyrgyz garment enterprises transferred 106.5 million soms (~$8,335) in taxes to the country’s budget between January and April this year, according to the tax department, The Caspian Post informs via Fibre2Fashion.
The industry has demonstrated a steady growth in tax revenues over the last few years.
Tax deductions for the sector increased 1.5 times in 2024 compared to the preceding year and reached 255.2 million soms ($19,972.5), according to domestic media reports.
In 2020, at least 58.5 million soms were transferred to the budget; in 2021, the figure was 81.2 million soms; in 2022, it was 120 million soms; and in 2023, it was 169 million soms.
Tax authorities say this growth is facilitated by government support measures, including tax breaks and a simplified tax regime for entrepreneurs working in the sector.
