During a working visit to Uzbekistan, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, together with leaders from across the region, toured the Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent-a landmark institution showcasing Central Asia’s profound contribution to Islamic science, culture, and education.
The center features a rich collection of ancient manuscripts, artifacts, and rare exhibits, emphasizing its role as a modern scientific, educational, and cultural hub that bridges historical heritage with contemporary research.
Alongside the presidents of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan, Japarov visited the Hall of the Holy Quran, home to the Mushaf Uthman-one of the world’s oldest and most revered Quranic manuscripts.
Guests also explored galleries dedicated to pre-Islamic civilizations, the First and Second Renaissance eras, and the region’s modern Renaissance, each highlighting the intellectual legacy of Central Asia’s great scholars and the rare manuscripts preserved from various dynasties.
The visit concluded with the International Heritage of the Future Award ceremony.
Sultan Raev, TURKSOY Secretary General and People’s Writer of the Kyrgyz Republic, received the prestigious honor in the Literature category.
The Heritage of the Future Award recognizes individuals making outstanding contributions in literature, culture, art, science, education, and digital technology, underscoring the region’s commitment to celebrating and preserving its cultural heritage.
