Kyrgyz President Marks Human Rights Day with Key Message

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has congratulated the people of Kyrgyzstan on Human Rights Day, highlighting the enduring importance of dignity, justice, and freedom as core national values.

He noted that the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights - adopted on December 10, 1948 - align deeply with Kyrgyz traditions, where honor and human dignity have long been seen as sacred, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

Japarov emphasized that Kyrgyzstan, since joining the UN in 1992, has firmly embedded universal rights into its Constitution and legislation. The country, he said, is committed to strengthening justice institutions, expanding democratic processes, and ensuring equal access to education, healthcare, and social services, especially for women, children, and vulnerable groups.

He added that human rights are not only legal norms but also a culture of mutual respect and personal responsibility. Japarov called on citizens to uphold dignity, embrace diverse opinions, and support one another to build “a strong, just, and prosperous Kyrgyzstan,” stressing that protecting every person's rights is essential for national development and the future of the next generation.
