A Kyrgyz representative has taken first place at the inaugural international music competition “Aldyn Sogun - Golden Arrow,” held in Kyzyl, Tuva, Russia.
The event, which ran from August 8 to 10, featured young singer Aelita Taalaybekova as Kyrgyzstan’s contender, The Caspian Post reports per Kyrgyz media.
She impressed the jury with her performances of “Anyaktar” (in the Tuvan language) and “Kurmanbek.”
More than 20 vocalists from Kazakhstan, Bashkortostan, Buryatia, Khakasiya, Gorno-Altaysk, Kalmykia, and other regions participated in the competition, which brought together talents from across Eurasia.
The “Aldyn Sogun” contest was organized for the first time this year, honoring the memory of Tuva’s distinguished artist Ayas Danzyryn and marking the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland.
