Kyrgyz athlete Bekzat Almaz Uulu has advanced to the quarterfinals of the World Wrestling Championships in Croatia, securing back-to-back victories.
Competing in the 57 kg category, Almaz Uulu opened his campaign in the round of 1/16 finals, delivering a dominant 11:0 victory over Canada’s athlete Garette Austin Saunders, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
He continued his winning streak in the 1/8 finals, defeating Japan’s athlete Rina Sakamoto to secure his place in the next round.
The Kyrgyz wrestler will face the winner of the match between North Macedonia’s athlete Vladimir Egorov and Iraq’s athlete Husein Albehadilalbors in the quarterfinals.
