The Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry and Hungary’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade have signed a detailed roadmap aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation from 2026 to 2028.
The agreement was finalized by Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev and his Hungarian counterpart Péter Szijjártó following the 5th session of the Kyrgyz-Hungarian Strategic Council held recently in Budapest, The Caspian Post reports via the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry.
The meeting focused on exploring new opportunities to deepen collaboration across political, trade-economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian spheres. Additionally, the parties discussed plans to strengthen cooperation in key sectors such as energy, transportation, agriculture, technology, and education. Particular emphasis was placed on the role of the Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Fund in facilitating these efforts.
Both sides underscored the importance of intensifying trade and investment ties and agreed to hold upcoming meetings of the Joint Kyrgyz-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation and the Kyrgyz-Hungarian Business Council in the near future.
The session concluded with the formal adoption of a joint protocol and the roadmap, setting a clear path for enhanced partnership between Kyrgyzstan and Hungary through 2028.
