Kyrgyzstan Imposes Six-Month Fertilizer Export Ban

Kyrgyzstan has introduced a temporary six-month ban on the export of mineral fertilizers beyond the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union.

The restriction aims to safeguard domestic supply and stabilize the agricultural sector. However, the measure does not apply to fertilizers exported under customs transit procedures or humanitarian assistance approved by the Cabinet of Ministers, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

The decision was signed by Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers. Authorities clarified that fertilizers previously imported from third countries and deemed non-compliant with quality standards are also exempt from the ban.

Government agencies have been tasked with tightening oversight and preventing illegal exports of specific fertilizer types during the restriction period.
