Kyrgyzstan is ramping up its clean energy efforts as the Ministry of Energy, along with Sonningdale Limited and CAREC LLC, signed a supplemental agreement to build a solar power plant in Kyzyl-Oruk.
The project aims to boost renewable energy, strengthen national energy security, and attract foreign investment, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
Preparations at the site are underway, including worker housing, substation foundations, and installation of support brackets for solar panels.
Energy Minister Taalaibek Ibraev confirmed the project is on schedule, with 104.5 megawatts of solar panels already delivered. Once completed, the plant will reduce reliance on traditional electricity sources and mark a key step in Kyrgyzstan’s clean energy development.
