Chairman of the Kyrgyz Central Commission for Elections and Referenda Tynchtyk Shainazarov has said that Kyrgyzstan’s early parliamentary elections received strong endorsements from international observation missions.
Shainazarov made these remarks during a meeting with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
Observers noted that Kyrgyzstan’s electoral legislation aligns with international standards, providing a legal framework for free, fair, and competitive elections.
They praised measures promoting gender equality, limiting the same-sex representation among majoritarian MPs, and the introduction of remote voting, allowing citizens to vote near temporary locations.
The overseas voting network was also commended, with 100 polling stations in 34 countries and 89 cities, expanding access for Kyrgyz citizens abroad.
The meeting included representatives from the CIS, CSTO, SCO, Organization of Turkic States, OIC, as well as election officials from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Türkiye, Tajikistan, Russia, and Belarus.
President Japarov thanked observers for their positive assessments and said their recommendations will be considered, noting that the elections will strengthen political stability, economic development, and citizen welfare.
