In Beijing, Meder Abakirov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, participated in the meeting of deputy foreign ministers within the Central Asia-China format.
The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic said that during the meeting the parties discussed issues of interaction between the Central Asian states and China in various fields, emphasizing the intensification of cooperation since the first Central Asia-China summit in Xi'an in 2023, The Caspian Post reports citing Kabar.
The heads of delegations paid special attention to the substantive part of the second Central Asia-China Summit to be held in 2025.
In his speech, Meder Abakirov emphasized that Kyrgyzstan views the Central Asia-China format as an effective strategic tool for strengthening mutual trust, good-neighborly relations, sustainable development and common prosperity of the entire region in partnership with the People's Republic of China.
On the same day, a bilateral meeting was held between Deputy Foreign Minister Abakirov and Assistant Foreign Minister of China Liu Bin, during which the parties emphasized the high dynamics of Kyrgyz-Chinese cooperation in 2025 and discussed plans for further joint work in the second half of this year.
The deputy heads of the foreign policy departments paid special attention to cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, focusing on the importance of promoting the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway construction project.
The parties also exchanged views on cooperation within the framework of multilateral organizations and platforms.
