Kyrgyzstan Plans to Use Azerbaijan’s Satellite Tech

Kyrgyzstan has expressed strong interest in using Azerbaijan’s satellite capabilities to enhance communication services, improve disaster preparedness, and strengthen agricultural and environmental monitoring.

During an official visit to Azerbaijan, a Kyrgyz delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobayev visited Azercosmos, the country’s national satellite operator, The Caspian Post reports via the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers.

Torobayev held talks with Acting Chairman Dunay Bedirkhanov, focusing on expanding cooperation in satellite technologies, communications, and digital services.

According to the Kyrgyz government, access to high-quality satellite data could help boost state management, support key socio-economic projects, and modernize monitoring systems across vital sectors.

Azerbaijan presented the technical capabilities of its satellite fleet, including data transmission, territory monitoring, and integrated digital solutions. Following the visit, both sides agreed to continue consultations and begin drafting concrete projects to apply satellite technologies in Kyrgyzstan’s priority fields.
