Kyrgyzstan’s trade with its partners in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) declined during the first four months of 2026, driven by a sharp drop in exports despite steady import growth.
According to official data, mutual trade between Kyrgyzstan and EAEU member states totaled $1.79 billion from January to April 2026, down 1.8% compared to the same period last year, The Caspian Post reports via Kabar.
The decline was largely caused by an 11.7% fall in exports, while imports posted a modest 1% increase, signaling a shift in the country’s trade balance within the regional bloc.
Russia and Kazakhstan continued to dominate Kyrgyzstan’s EAEU trade, accounting for 67.4% and 30.2% of total turnover respectively, underscoring their importance as the country's key regional economic partners.
Overall, Kyrgyzstan’s foreign and mutual trade in goods reached $4.76 billion during the first four months of 2026, representing a 3.6% year-on-year decrease.
