World Bank Grants $50 Million to Kyrgyzstan to Accelerate Green Energy Transition

Kyrgyzstan has secured a major boost for its clean energy ambitions after the World Bank allocated $50 million in grant funding to support the country’s transition to renewable energy and reduce carbon emissions.

President Sadyr Japarov announced the funding during the launch ceremony of the first phase of the ROX Issyk-Kul solar power plant in the village of Kyzyl-Oruk, located in the Issyk-Kul region, The Caspian Post reports via Kabar.

Japarov said that the grant will help Kyrgyzstan cut harmful carbon dioxide emissions while speeding up the development of sustainable energy sources. He described the expansion of the green energy sector as a key national priority and stressed the importance of continued investment in renewable technologies.
