Kyrgyzstan Seeks to Expand Energy Cooperation with Türkiye

Kyrgyzstan plans to deepen energy cooperation with Türkiye and has proposed joint projects in the coal sector.

The topic was discussed during a meeting in Istanbul between Kyrgyz Energy Minister Taalaibek Ibraev and his Turkish counterpart, Alparslan Bayraktar, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

Ibraev highlighted Kyrgyzstan’s significant potential in hydropower, solar, wind, and bioenergy, as well as high-quality coal reserves that could be of interest to Türkiye.

Bayraktar expressed readiness to consider projects if logistics and economic feasibility are favorable. Both ministers also discussed plans to develop bilateral energy collaboration and implement major projects, confirming mutual interest in strengthening the partnership.
