Kyrgyzstan, Georgia Sign New Cooperation Deals Across Key Sectors

Kyrgyzstan and Georgia have taken a major step toward strengthening bilateral ties, signing a series of agreements and memorandums covering aviation, trade, education, justice and nuclear safety.

The documents were signed following talks between Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze in Bishkek on June 12, The Caspian Post reports via AKIPress.

The agreements aim to expand cooperation in aviation, state property management, veterinary services, education, sports and legal affairs. The two countries also approved a cooperation program between their foreign ministries for 2027-2028.

The following documents were signed:

A Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the aviation authorities of Kyrgyzstan and Georgia;

A Memorandum of Cooperation in state property management between the State Agency for State Property Management under the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Georgia’s State Properties Commission;

A Memorandum of Cooperation in veterinary services between Kyrgyzstan’s Veterinary, Livestock, Pastures and Feed Development Service and Georgia’s National Food Agency under the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture;

A Cooperation Program for 2027-2028 between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan and Georgia;

A Memorandum of Understanding between Kyrgyzstan’s Department of State Regulation in the Sphere of Environmental Protection and Ecological Safety and Georgia’s Nuclear and Radiation Safety Agency on cooperation and information exchange in radiation protection, nuclear safety and security;

A Memorandum of Understanding on educational cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan and the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia;

An Agreement between Kyrgyzstan’s State Customs Service and Georgia’s Ministry of Finance on the advance exchange of information regarding goods and vehicles transported between the two countries;

An Agreement on cooperation in physical culture and sports between Kyrgyzstan’s State Agency of Physical Culture and Sports and Georgia’s Ministry of Sports;

A Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation in the legal field between the Ministries of Justice of Kyrgyzstan and Georgia.

A key deal focuses on the advance exchange of information about goods and vehicles transported between Kyrgyzstan and Georgia, a move expected to facilitate trade and improve customs procedures.

The sides also signed a memorandum on cooperation and information sharing in radiation protection, nuclear safety and security, highlighting efforts to strengthen coordination in critical areas of public safety.
