The incoming ambassador brings extensive experience from the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), where he has worked since 2012.
During his diplomatic career, Deuchar has held several key positions, including responsibilities related to the G20 and serving as Private Secretary to the Minister for Europe and the Americas. He has also worked at British embassies in Moscow and Addis Ababa, gaining broad international experience across different regions.
In a sign of his commitment to the new role, the diplomat has been studying the Kyrgyz language since 2025 in preparation for his assignment in Kyrgyzstan.
