Russia has sharply increased its agricultural exports to Kyrgyzstan, delivering more than $398 million worth of products in the first eight months of this year - a 13 per cent rise compared to the same period in 2023.
In total, Russia supplied over 760,000 tons of food products to Kyrgyzstan in 2024, valued at nearly $560 million, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
The biggest share of exports went to wheat and chocolate confectionery (11 per cent each), followed by flour-based confectionery (10 per cent), and sunflower oil and sugar (6 per cent each).
The report also highlights the key role of agriculture in Kyrgyzstan’s economy, noting that the sector accounted for 8.6 per cent of the country’s GDP this year.
