Kyrgyzstan Sets Sights on $21.9 Billion Foreign Trade by 2030

Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover is expected to reach $21.9 billion by 2030, the Ministry of Finance revealed in its latest report detailing the country’s fiscal policy roadmap.

The report projects a steady improvement in the country’s net exports as a share of GDP, narrowing the deficit from -26.5 to -23.2 per cent by the end of the decade. This growth is underpinned by a forecasted average annual increase of 6.2 per cent in foreign trade turnover, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

At the core of Kyrgyzstan’s external economic policy are targeted initiatives to expand export capacity, diversify supply chains, raise product quality, and broaden the range of export destinations. To facilitate these objectives, the government plans to enhance the development of digital platforms and e-commerce tools, recognizing their critical role in modern trade.

Furthermore, the Ministry emphasized the importance of upgrading logistics and transport infrastructure to support the growing export potential and streamline trade flows.

A strategic focus will be placed on strengthening ties with the Chinese market, deemed a key priority for Kyrgyzstan’s export expansion efforts.

In parallel, Kyrgyzstan will continue to engage within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union to advance an e-commerce agreement aimed at harmonizing regulations and safeguarding the rights of all participants in the digital trade ecosystem.

Through these comprehensive measures, Kyrgyzstan aims to solidify its position in global markets and foster sustainable economic growth over the coming decade.
