Kyrgyzstan and Türkiye are expanding cooperation in digitalizing customs processes.
The delegations were led by Almaz Saliev, Chairman of Kyrgyzstan’s Customs Service, and Sezai Uçarmak, Türkiye’s Deputy Minister of Trade, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
During the meeting, both sides signed technical specifications for two intergovernmental protocols: preliminary exchange of information on goods and vehicles and simplified customs control. These agreements will enable digital solutions to speed up cargo clearance and increase transparency at borders.
The parties also confirmed that documents certified with an electronic digital signature will be recognized under the Agreement on Mutual Administrative Assistance. Kyrgyzstan proposed using its own digital signature system, which Türkiye agreed to recognize. A technical expert meeting will follow in December.
Additionally, Kyrgyzstan and Türkiye agreed to exchange trade statistics twice a year to monitor and boost trade turnover, and discussed joint canine training programs planned for 2026.
The next, fourth Joint Customs Council meeting is scheduled to take place in Kyrgyzstan in 2026.
