Russia's Rosatom to Launch Wind Farm in Kyrgyzstan in 2026

Grigory Nazarov, head of Rosatom Renewable Energy (a subsidiary of Rosatom State Atomiс Energy Corporation), has said that Rosatom plans to start construction of a 100-megawatt wind farm in Kyrgyzstan’s Issyk-Kul region in 2026.

The company has received connection conditions for the project, allowing detailed design work to begin, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

The site layout, connection schemes, and technical parameters have been finalized. Construction equipment is expected to arrive in 2026, though an exact month has not been confirmed.

The wind farm is part of an investment contract signed in late 2024, which includes the construction, operation, and electricity sale from the plant, boosting Kyrgyzstan’s renewable energy capacity.
