Kyrgyzstan, World Bank Eye Closer Collaboration for Economic Growth

Chairman of the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliev, has met with Najy Benhassine, World Bank Regional Director for Central Asia, to discuss bilateral cooperation and explore avenues for further partnership.

Kasymaliev highlighted Kyrgyzstan’s strong economic performance, noting an average growth of 9 per cent over the past three years and 11.5 per cent from January to July 2025, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kyrgyz media.

He outlined the government’s goal to raise the country’s GDP to $30 billion by 2030 and detailed key priorities of the National Development Program, including industrialization, establishing a regional hub, developing agriculture and tourism, advancing green energy, and completing the Kambarata HPP-1 project.

“The World Bank plays a leading role in financing our projects, and its support is crucial for achieving our strategic objectives,” Kasymaliev said.

Benhassine confirmed the World Bank’s readiness to continue supporting projects in Kyrgyzstan, emphasizing the strong cooperation and growing interest of international investors in the nation’s economic development.
