Russia, Kyrgyzstan Ease Travel Rules for Citizens

Russia has officially approved an agreement with Kyrgyzstan to simplify travel for citizens of both countries.

The order, signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and published on Russia’s legal information website, authorizes the two governments to finalize the deal through an exchange of diplomatic notes, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

Under the draft agreement, Russian citizens will be able to enter Kyrgyzstan using an internal passport, international passport, diplomatic or service passport, or a certificate of return. Kyrgyz citizens will likewise be allowed to travel to Russia with a passport, ID card, diplomatic or service passport, seafarer’s passport, or a certificate of return.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has been tasked with carrying out the exchange of notes, marking the final procedural step toward implementing the updated travel regime.
