Tajikistan has sharply increased its exports to Kyrgyzstan, with shipments rising nearly 19 times.
Exports to Kyrgyzstan totaled just $475,000 in 2024, but climbed to $9 million over the past year, reflecting a significant expansion in bilateral trade, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
Kyrgyzstan remains the only member state of the Eurasian Economic Union that shares a common border with Tajikistan. Analysts attribute the sustained growth in trade turnover to improved political relations following the signing of a peace agreement and the Declaration of Eternal Friendship between the two countries.
More broadly, Tajikistan continued to diversify its foreign trade ties, maintaining commercial relations with 124 countries worldwide during the first 11 months of 2025, underscoring the country’s expanding role in regional and global trade networks.
