The US Embassy in Kyrgyzstan has announced that the US Department of State shortened the validity period for non-immigrant visas issued to Kyrgyz citizens.
This change follows the implementation of US Presidential Executive Order 14161, titled “Protecting the United States from Foreign Terrorist Entry into the United States and Other National and Public Safety Threats”, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
The US Department of State explained that the measure aims to enhance the oversight of foreign nationals entering the US and to prevent potential misuse of the visa system. Reducing visa validity periods improves the US government's ability to detect and manage risks associated with national and public security.
The executive order also grants the State Department discretion to review and adjust visa reciprocity policies as needed.
For more detailed information on visa validity and related policies, applicants are encouraged to consult the official website of the US Department of State.
