According to Daily News, the initial US-brokered peace agreement signed during the meeting commits the two countries to stop fighting, open diplomatic relations, and respect each other’s territorial integrity. President Trump also announced that restrictions on defense cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United States have been lifted.
Daily Dawn reported that the agreement includes exclusive US development rights to a strategic transit corridor through the South Caucasus, dubbed the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity.” US officials stated that the deal, hammered out after repeated visits to the region, will serve as a basis for working toward full normalization between the countries.
Pakistan Television highlighted Pakistan’s welcome of the historic peace agreement signed at the White House summit under the auspices of U.S. President Donald J. Trump. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said, “This landmark development marks the dawn of a new era of peace, stability, and cooperation in the South Caucasus, a region that has endured decades of conflict and human suffering.”
