Russian Drone Strike Injures Five, Sparks Destruction in Ukraine’s Odesa Region

The Ukrainian State Emergency Service has announced that a Russian drone attack on Odesa region injured five people and caused significant damage to residential, administrative, and industrial infrastructure.

The overnight assault triggered a series of large-scale fires, engulfing two residential buildings, an administrative facility, and a gas station, The Caspian Post reports via Ukrainian media.

One of the most severe blazes occurred at a port infrastructure facility, where containers carrying vegetable oil, vehicles, and wood fuel pellets caught fire, intensifying the emergency response.

A major firefighting operation was launched, involving 83 emergency service personnel, 18 pieces of firefighting equipment, a specialized firefighting robot, four volunteers, and an additional fire engine.

Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, confirmed that the drone strike also caused a major power outage, leaving over 30,000 customers without electricity.

Authorities are still assessing the full extent of the damage as recovery and repair efforts continue across the affected areas.
