A revolver presented by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to Finnish President Alexander Stubb will be donated to a museum rather than kept as a personal gift.
The firearm was handed over to Finnish police immediately after the official presentation. Stubb later expressed his wish for the revolver to become part of a museum collection, The Caspian Post reports via Yle.
Among the institutions being considered is the Military Museum of Finland, which preserves artifacts related to the country's military and firearms history.
Under Finnish firearms legislation, individuals must have a valid reason-such as sport shooting-to possess a firearm. Had Stubb chosen to keep the revolver, he would have been required to obtain a firearms permit or have the weapon permanently deactivated.
