Iran and Armenia Sign Key Cooperation Agreements

During his official visit to Yerevan, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian was accompanied by high-ranking officials who signed 10 cooperation agreements with their Armenian counterparts in various fields.

The documents signed in the presence of Pezeshkian and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, aim to boost bilateral cooperation in the areas such as socio-politics, culture, tourism, industry, education, road and urban development, and health, The Caspian Post reports citing IRNA.

Pezeshkian and Pashinyan also issued a joint statement related to historical and friendly ties, and their promise to continue the path that benefits both sides.

The Iranian president arrived in Yerevan on Monday on the first leg of an official two-nation trip which will also take him to Belarus. Pezeshkian held talks with the country’s prime minister and president after officially welcomed at the presidential palace on Tuesday.

Speaking before departure, the president said the expansion of relations with neighboring and allied countries are among Iran’s top priorities.

He emphasized that Iran had always tried to maintain and improve the highest level of political, economic, cultural and social cooperation with the friendly and neighborly countries, particularly Armenia.

On the first day of his visit, Pezeshkian met with Armenian elites and Iranians residing in the Caucasian nation.
