Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, currently on an official visit to Tajikistan, has initiated talks with his Tajik counterpart, Emomali Rahmon, The Caspian Post reports citing IRNA.
The two presidents began their talks after Pezeshkian was officially welcomed by Rahmon at his official residence in the capital Dushanbe, the Palace of the Nation, on Thursday morning.
Their talks cover a range of topics, including issues of mutual interest as well as regional and international developments.
Following the negotiations, delegations of both countries are expected to sign cooperation documents. After that, Pezeshkian and Rahmon will participate in a joint press conference.
The Iranian president is also scheduled to visit Avicenna Tajik State Medical University, where he is going to receive an honorary professorship.
Pezeshkian, heading a high-ranking delegation, arrived in Tajikistan on Wednesday. He will wrap up his trip on Friday morning when he will depart for Russia.
