Kyrgyzstan's State Tax Service has announced that starting January 1, 2025, the turnover of unlabeled fuel will be prohibited in the country.

According to the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution, storage, sale and transportation of unmarked gasoline and diesel fuel will be prohibited from this date, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kyrgyz media.

Entities involved in the turnover of petroleum products must mark the residues of these types of fuel by Dec.31, 2024.

Starting from Oct.1, 2024 mandatory labeling of gasoline and diesel fuel, both imported and produced, using molecular markers was introduced in Kyrgyzstan.

Due to the introduction of labeling system in November, excise tax revenues on fuels and lubricants increased by 59% compared to the same period last year, amounting to KGS 349.5 million.
