Oil Depot Set Ablaze in Russian-occupied Luhansk

Russian-occupied Luhansk was struck on February 27, as an oil depot caught fire and a substation near Alchevsk was damaged.

Social media footage shows the Luhansk depot engulfed in flames, sending a thick black smoke column into the sky, The Caspian Post reports via Ukrainian media.

Meanwhile, the Cherkaska substation in the settlement of Lozivske sustained damage, affecting local power supplies.

Previous Strikes and Humanitarian Impact

This is not the first attack on Luhansk. On September 4, an oil depot supplying fuel to Russian forces was targeted, and Ukrainian strikes have previously hit fuel and lubricant storage sites in the occupied city.

The conflict has also had a humanitarian impact, with schools left without heating as resources are redirected to support military operations.
