A Russian airstrike hit a residential area in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia on March 14, killing one man and injuring 11 others.
Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov said that Russian forces launched four guided bomb strikes around 4:30 p.m. (GMT+2), targeting apartments and private homes, The Caspian Post reports via Ukrainian media.
The casualties included three men and eight women, among them a 17-year-old girl in serious condition. Following the strikes, a fire broke out but was quickly extinguished by emergency responders. Two victims were rescued from rubble after several homes were destroyed.
Officials confirmed:
Several homes were completely destroyed
12 additional homes and 12 apartment buildings were damaged
An infrastructure facility and multiple vehicles were also hit
Zaporizhzhia, a southern Ukrainian city with a pre-war population of around 710,000, has frequently faced Russian attacks. Earlier this week, on March 11, another guided bomb strike damaged critical infrastructure and injured 13 people, including children.
