Russian Drone, Rocket Strikes Hit Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk

Russian forces launched drone and rocket attacks on Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region, leaving civilians injured and damaging buildings and transport infrastructure.

In the Synelnykove district, two men were wounded after strikes hit the Mykolaiv community.

Drone attacks were also reported in Pavlohrad and Piatykhatky, where fires broke out and infrastructure, including a transport company, was damaged. In the Nikopol district, the town of Marhanets came under Grad rocket fire, injuring three civilians who are receiving outpatient treatment, The Caspian Post reports, citing Ukrainian media.

Ukraine’s air defense forces said they shot down 22 Russian drones during the overnight attack. The strikes followed a major assault on December 13, when Russia used an Iskander-M missile and 138 drones, with Ukrainian defenses intercepting 110 of them. That earlier wave left residents in several regions-including Odesa, Chernihiv, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, and Mykolaiv-without electricity.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned that Russia has recently stepped up the intensity of its air strikes across Ukraine, increasing pressure on civilian infrastructure and regional energy systems.
