The building of Azerbaijan’s embassy in Kyiv was damaged during missile strikes on the Ukrainian capital, as Russia launched a large-scale attack targeting civilian infrastructure across the city.
Several missiles struck the Shevchenkivskyi District, where the Azerbaijani embassy is located. Some of the explosions occurred just 300 meters from the diplomatic mission, shattering windows at the embassy building, The Caspian Post reports via Azertac.
The attacks also caused heavy destruction in nearby areas. The popular Lukyanivka market and the Kvadrat shopping center were reportedly destroyed, while several residential buildings sustained damage.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said at least two people were killed and more than 40 injured in the strikes. Twenty-eight victims were hospitalized, with three reported to be in serious condition.
The number of casualties could rise as emergency crews continue clearing debris from the damaged sites.
