Russian Strike Sparks Fire in Zaporizhzhia Housing Block

A Russian strike hit the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia, damaging residential buildings and injuring two civilians.

Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, said the attack occurred at dawn, when Russian forces struck the courtyard of a multi-story apartment complex, The Caspian Post reports via Ukrainian media.

The impact sparked a fire that spread through the building, leaving more than 100 apartments damaged and destroying or damaging around 20 vehicles.

Emergency services were quickly deployed to contain the blaze and assist residents. While initial reports indicated no casualties, officials later confirmed that an 88-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man sought medical assistance and received treatment on site.

Images released by local authorities show shattered windows, scorched cars, and significant structural damage to the residential block, underscoring the scale of destruction.

Zaporizhzhia and nearby areas have come under repeated Russian attacks in recent weeks, involving drones, missiles, and aerial bombs. Local officials say emergency crews remain on high alert as damage assessments continue and recovery efforts get underway.
