Turkish Stock Exchange Reaches Record High at Weekly Open

Türkiye's benchmark stock index started the week on a positive note on Monday, rising by 0.55% or 67.03 points to reach a new record high of 12,267.98.

On Friday, the BIST 100 index rose 0.93% to close at a historic high of 12,200.95 points, with a daily transaction volume of 157 billion liras ($3.65 billion), The Caspian Post reports, citing Anadolu agency.

As of 10 am local time (0700GMT), the US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 43.1415, the euro/lira 50.3830, and the British pound/lira at 58.0060.

The price of an ounce of gold was $4,578.70, while Brent crude oil was trading at $63.2 per barrel.
