Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Tehran Fariddin Nasriyev met with Iranian Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Seyyed Reza Salehi Amiri to discuss key issues in expanding bilateral cooperation in tourism.
The parties noted the positive dynamics of the development of partnership between Uzbekistan and Iran in various fields, especially in tourism, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.
Minister Seyyed Reza Salehi Amiri stressed that the Iranian President attaches great importance to increasing the mutual tourist flow.
Initiatives to establish the Uzbekistan - Iran Tourism Committee and expand cooperation within UNESCO were also discussed.
Following the meeting, the Iranian side invited Uzbekistan’s tourism industry representatives to attend the 18th International Tourism Exhibition, which will be held from February 11 to 14 in Tehran.
