Tashkent Hosts World Youth Savate Championship

As part of the implementation of the Presidential Decree "On Measures for the Broad Promotion of a Healthy Lifestyle and Further Development of Mass Sports" from October 30, 2020, and to promote the French boxing discipline "Savate" among the population, an international tournament was held at the "Universal" Sports Palace in Tashkent.

At the World Youth Savate Championship, athletes from Uzbekistan were joined by participants from more than 10 countries, including France, India, Canada, Iran, Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Russia, Croatia, and Serbia, who showcased their strength and skill, The Caspian Post reports citing UzA.

Uzbekistan’s Sevinch Rajabboyeva, Mukhlisa Siddikova, Aynura Boboyeva, Jasmina Qayumkhodjayeva, Mirjalol Kholjurayev, Ikhlos Abduganiyev, Abdutolib Toshboyev, and Javokhir Ortiqboyev competed in the World Championship events and secured prize-winning places.

Uzbekistan athletes Dilshod Turgunov, Fakhriddin Botirov, Avazbek Sobirov, Doniyor Qurbonov, Alaziz Sherkoziyev, Hikmatilla Toshpulatov, and Farhod Makhmudov won bronze medals in their respective weight categories.
