China’s Shanghai Electric to Power Tajikistan’s Green Energy Future

China’s Shanghai Electric Group Co., Ltd. is set to collaborate with Tajikistan’s Ministry of Energy and Water Resources to build solar and wind power stations in the country.

During a meeting in Dushanbe, Tajik Energy Minister Daler Juma and Shanghai Electric Chairman Wu Lei discussed expanding cooperation in Tajikistan’s energy sector, focusing on renewable energy development, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.

The Chinese delegation was briefed on investment opportunities and strategic priorities within Tajikistan’s energy landscape.

Shanghai Electric expressed interest not only in solar and wind projects but also in constructing high-voltage transmission lines, waste-to-energy plants, and forming a joint venture to manufacture electromechanical equipment.
