Dushanbe Exhibition Weaves Together Tajik, Kyrgyz Manufacturing Power

A joint exhibition showcasing textile equipment and products from industrial enterprises of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan is underway in Tajikistan’s Dushanbe city as part of the first International Textile Forum.

The event, held at the capital’s EXPO Center, opened on July 9 and concludes on July 10, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.

Organized by the Tajik Ministry of Industry and New Technologies with support from the national government, the forum seeks to strengthen cooperation between business sectors, government institutions, and academic communities, while fostering new international partnerships.

On the eve of the official opening, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov visited the exhibition, reviewing the diverse displays presented by companies from both countries.

The exhibition is divided into several thematic zones, covering light and heavy industry, food production, pharmaceuticals, and other sectors. The Kyrgyz pavilion features a wide range of consumer and industrial products, including clothing, foodstuffs, and medical goods. One of the event's highlights is the “Shumkar” helicopter, developed by the Shumkar Transnational Corporation.

The two-seat Shumkar helicopter is among the first of its kind assembled in Kyrgyzstan. While its components are sourced from Poland, final assembly takes place domestically. It is designed for short takeoffs and can travel 600 kilometers on 70 liters of fuel, completing a flight in approximately three hours.

Tajik companies presented a broad portfolio of products, ranging from coal and defense equipment to construction materials, agricultural produce, dairy goods, textiles, and machinery.

Throughout the event, companies from both nations have held discussions on future collaboration. Some Kyrgyz visitors documented the exhibition on social media, offering a virtual showcase to their followers. Food products and other consumables are also available for on-site purchase.

A representative of a participating Tajik enterprise stated that such forums are essential for creating new business ties, promoting Tajik goods to global markets, and - most importantly - “renewing ties with friendly Kyrgyzstan.”
