Tajikistan is looking to deepen cooperation with China in the energy and water sectors, as Minister of Energy and Water Resources Daler Juma met with China’s Ambassador to Tajikistan, Guo Zhijun, to discuss key areas of bilateral partnership.
The talks centered on expanding collaboration in energy and water management, advancing joint projects, attracting new investment, and leveraging China’s technical expertise, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.
Both sides emphasized the importance of practical cooperation aimed at supporting Tajikistan’s development priorities and strengthening long-term energy security.
Officials noted that China remains one of Tajikistan’s key strategic partners, with bilateral relations steadily growing in recent years on the basis of mutual trust, respect, and shared interests.
The meeting comes amid broader efforts by Tajikistan to scale up its green energy capacity. Earlier reports indicated that a 400-megawatt solar power plant is planned, a project expected to significantly contribute to the country’s transition toward cleaner and more sustainable energy sources.
