Tajikistan and Germany are taking major steps to deepen cooperation in workforce development.
Tajik Minister of Labor, Migration and Employment, Soleha Kholmahmadzoda, met in Dushanbe with representatives of the German company TELC GmbH to advance plans for official German language testing and professional training for Tajik workers seeking jobs in Germany, The Caspian Post informs via Tajik media.
According to the ministry, the minister thanked the German delegation and stressed the importance of aligning Tajik vocational training and skills assessment with the needs of the German labor market.
The sides noted steady growth in bilateral cooperation, supported by dvv international, Caritas Germany, GIZ, and the German Sparkassenstiftung, which work with Tajik institutions on skills development, migration support, and entrepreneurship programs.
The meeting builds on a July 7, 2025 visit to Germany, where initial agreements with TELC gGmbH were reached. A memorandum of understanding has now been signed, outlining key areas of cooperation:
launching official German language exams in Tajikistan
training local German-language instructors
expanding regional access to language courses
preparing skilled workers for employment in Germany
Officials say the partnership will boost the qualifications and global competitiveness of Tajik workers while strengthening long-term ties between the two countries.
This summer, Kholmahmadzoda also discussed labor mobility with senior officials in Saxony-Anhalt and representatives of German companies including Askania Future GmbH, Agora Invest GmbH, and SIT International UG. Germany has expressed interest in workers from Tajikistan in fields such as social services, beauty and wellness, physiotherapy, trucking, mechanical engineering, and electrical work.
Short-term training programs based on German models - including language instruction - are already operating at the Center for Handicraft and Skills Development in Dushanbe, which offers training in more than 100 professions.
Tajikistan and Germany agreed on a joint migration framework in January 2024, and Tajik specialists - from doctors and nurses to engineers and researchers - are already working in Germany under various pathways.
