Tajikistan has proposed expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan in the digitalization of industrial enterprises, highlighting new opportunities for technological transformation and joint industrial development.
The proposal was made by Deputy Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan Bakhtiyor Safarzoda during the Azerbaijan-Tajikistan business forum held in Baku, The Caspian Post reports via Report.
Safarzoda said digital transformation of industry and the introduction of advanced technologies represent one of the most promising areas of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
He suggested establishing a joint working group to define priority areas for the digitalization of industrial enterprises and accelerate practical collaboration.
Tajikistan also proposed creating joint innovation centers and technoparks focused on the manufacturing sector to boost technological exchange and industrial modernization.
The initiative includes expanding cooperation in mechanical engineering to improve supplies of industrial, transport, and agricultural equipment, as well as developing joint assembly and service facilities in Tajikistan.
Safarzoda further highlighted potential collaboration in the chemical industry, including the production of fertilizers, construction materials, and household and industrial chemicals, noting that Tajikistan has a strong raw material base for such projects.
In addition, he pointed to opportunities in construction materials, suggesting increased imports of Tajik products by Azerbaijani partners.
He also proposed joint ventures in silk processing, textile production, and carpet manufacturing, with a focus on building full value chains from raw materials to finished goods.
